Cain and Abel

This illustration was produced for The Cheltenham Illustration awards. The brief was to produce a piece of work that included a tree. I chose to depict the story of Cain and Abel in one long panel. It represents the transition from hunter gatherer  culture to agriculture.

I wanted to show how from hunter gatherers we have worked our way up from foraging to small farming, agriculture and ultimately land ownership. It depicts the sacrifice we’ve made for out progression.
